A. Give yourself an "B". Aluminum is the most highly recyclable
material. It takes much less energy to make aluminum cans from used ones than
it does to make them from new material. Go back to top

B. Give yourself a "C" if the plastic bottles are returnable
for a refund at the store, or if they are accepted at your local recycling center.
Give yourself a "D" if they are not, or if you do not know whether they are. Go

D. Give yourself a "B". By adding your own water, you saved
a lot of packaging. Add a plus if your local recycling center also accepts the
box (made of what may be called "light cardboard", "kitchen cardboard", "chip
board", or "mixed paper.") Go back to top or find out about

Bonus Points: Add a plus to your letter grade
if you purchased the largest size container. Leave your score alone if you purchased
the medium size. Add a minus if you purchased the small size. Exception
-- aluminum cans, because they come only in individual serving sizes which are
highly recyclable. Leave your score alone.
Note: I don't give "A's" for the best soft drink container choices.
I feel they are a waste of natural resources because soft drinks are not
healthy for humans anyway. And aluminum takes a great deal of energy to
make.
