Tammy
is an all-American Eastern Wild Turkey. Tammy's turkey brothers and sisters had
become almost extinct in the northeastern USA but are now making something of
a comeback, with some help from kind people (like New Hampshire state wildlife
biologist Ted Walski) who care about wild creatures. So Tammy is really a spokesbird
for the environment.
And did you know the wild turkey was nominated in second place to the bald eagle
as the American national symbol?
