Center for Food Safety - The Center for Food Safety (CFS) provides leadership in legal, scientific, and grassroots efforts to address the increasing concerns about the impacts of our food production system on human health, animal welfare, and the environment. A US site based in Washington DC.

Council for Responsible Genetics - US-based organisation of scientists and others who want to make sure that ordinary people know what's going on in genetics and can make their views known to those in control.

ETC group (Erosion, Technology and Concentration action group) is a respected international organization based in Canada. It is deeply worried about what the biotech corporations are doing and finds out what they are up to. The ETC group exists to try to help the conservation and sustainable use of the rich variety of living things on our planet - things that will be damaged by new GE technologies like Traitor and Terminator. The ETC group wants to encourage the responsible use of technologies for rural societies. It is concerned about the loss of the natural variety of different genetic traits in plants and animals used for food (agricultural biodiversity), and the effect of intellectual property (patents) on farmers and food security.

GE Food Alert Campaign Center - Genetically Engineered Food Alert is a coalition of seven organizations united in their commitment to testing and labeling genetically engineered food. It is based in the US.

GeneWatch UK - looks at ethics and risks of genetic engineering. It questions how, why and whether people need GE and wants to help everyone to know and think about what's going on.

Greenpeace International - Genetic engineering campaigns, information and ways to get active.

Greenpeace USA - Genetic engineering news, action and networks in the USA.

Physicians and Scientists for Responsible Application of Science and Technology(PSRAST) - One of the best educational resources on the Web, written so that everybody can understand the problems without knowing anything about genetics.

Resource Center on Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology - Organic Consumers Association (US) site bursting with help, ideas, news and information.

Third World Network - Wonderful site based in Malaysia with loads of information about biosafety, biotechnology, Terminator and Traitor technologies, agribusiness and patenting.

Union of Concerned Scientists - What Is Genetic Engineering? UCS (USA) looks at the science behind GE. Forget the idea that all scientists think GE is a great idea. They don't. And be sure to take a trip to their interactive transgenic cafe!

DuPont - They have a section they call 'Straight talk about biotechnology'. It offers a quick 4-section course covering History, Science, Safety and Promise. (US)

Monsanto - the biggest of all the companies doing genetic engineering.
